Basics Guide
Understanding hand rankings is the first step to becoming a solid poker player. Here they are from strongest to weakest:
Strategy Tips
Position is one of the most critical factors in poker. Playing from a late position (button, cutoff) gives you more information about your opponents before you act. Use this edge to play a wider range of profitable hands.
Consistent bet sizing makes you harder to read. Avoid betting too large with weak hands or too small with strong ones. A bet between 50% and 75% of the pot is a solid starting point.
New players often fall into a passive check-call pattern. Good poker demands controlled aggression – fold more weak hands and bet more assertively with strong ones to build profitable pots.
Never sit at a table with more than 5% of your total bankroll. This ensures one bad session won't wipe out your entire stake. At vip555, start at micro-stakes tables before moving up to higher stakes.
Great poker isn't about the cards you hold – it's about what your opponents think you hold. Pay attention to their betting patterns, reaction times and bet sizing to make better-informed decisions at every street.
Rakeback & VIP Programme
Vip555's rakeback programme ensures that every hand you play puts value back in your pocket, not just the platform's. The higher your VIP tier, the greater the percentage of rake you get back.
This means active poker players at vip555 always get more back compared to platforms that don't offer rakeback. For players putting in dozens of hours a month, the difference can add up to hundreds of ringgit every month.

Why vip555
Many Malaysian poker players who have tried international platforms know how frustrating it can be when support doesn't understand local context, deposits are a hassle, or table limits don't match a typical bankroll.
At vip555, everything is built with the Malaysian player in mind. Deposits start from as low as RM 30, payment methods you already use daily such as Touch 'n Go and DuitNow, tables with stakes to suit everyone from micro to high-roller, and support in Bahasa Malaysia – that's the vip555 commitment.
Poker is one of the most mentally demanding card games around. Unlike most casino games that rely entirely on luck, poker involves strategy, psychology, reading opponents, and deep risk management. That's why players who study the game seriously can achieve consistent long-term gains – something rarely possible in pure games of chance.
At vip555, we provide the ideal environment for players of every level. If you're new to Texas Hold'em, our beginner tables with blinds as low as RM 0.50/1 are the perfect place to get comfortable with the flow of the game without risking large amounts. Once you're confident, move up to standard tables and eventually to VIP tables when your skills and bankroll are ready.
Texas Hold'em is the most popular poker variant in the world, and at vip555. Each player receives two hole cards (private) and shares five community cards revealed in stages – the Flop (3 cards), Turn (1 card), and River (1 card). The goal is to build the best 5-card hand using any combination of hole and community cards. Its straightforward rules make it easy to learn, yet the strategic depth takes years to fully master.
Omaha is a popular choice for players who are already comfortable with Hold'em and want a greater challenge. Each player receives four hole cards in Omaha, but must use exactly two of them along with three community cards to build a hand. This produces stronger hand combinations on average and much larger pots than Hold'em. Players making the switch from Hold'em to Omaha need to adjust their strategy, as hands that are strong in Hold'em may not be strong enough in Omaha.
Poker tournaments at vip555 are among the most exciting in Malaysia. From Sit & Go events that wrap up in under an hour to major Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs) like the vip555 Mega Poker Championship with a total prize pool of RM 100,000 – there's something for every type of player. The weekly freeroll with RM 2,000 in prizes is also the perfect opportunity for new players to get their first taste of tournament poker at no cost.
One of vip555's standout advantages over other platforms is its transparent and competitive rakeback programme. Rake is a small portion of each pot taken by the platform as a service fee. At vip555, a significant share of that rake is returned to players through the VIP programme – starting at 5% for Bronze members up to 30% for Diamond members. For serious poker players putting in hundreds of hours a month, this rakeback can add up to thousands of MYR every year.
